Focus On What You Like About a Person

People tend to believe that they are doing you a favor by telling you all of the reasons why things aren't great with you. What about telling people all the things that are great about them, other than the fact that they are a great person. People need to take the time to focus on what they like about you instead of what they dislike about you. Focus on what you like about a person.
Energy should be put into the good and not the bad. No one likes their flaws to be pointed out especially if some of their flaws are the same as the person who is pointing them out. It is one thing to point out characteristic flaws if your intention is to help the other person. But if your intention isn't to help the other person, then sometimes I feel it should be kept to yourself. Just calling someone out on their flaws isn't going to help them change the flaw. How about if you keep noticing someone not making any progress on what you dislike about them, help them with changing what you don't like. Ask them how you can help them become better or to eliminate the dislike altogether and then actually make efforts to help. Words without action can sometimes be pointless.
So you don't like certain parts of someone's attitude. How about seeing what keeps putting them in the same negative attitude that you feel they have and try to eliminate the thing or things that cause them to always have an attitude or negative disposition on your end. We mustn't be blind to the fact that there is no perfect human being. We all were created with a multitude of flaws. You would not want someone to keep bringing up what they dislike about you, so don't keep bringing up what you dislike about that person.
We sometimes need people to help us get us back to our happy place. A positive/negative attitude does rub off on others. The phrase is, is your attitude worth catching? They ask this simply because positive or negative, attitudes can be contagious. If you are positive and smiling all the time, others can't help but to smile and be positive with you and vice versus.
We cannot allow others to steal our joy, but in return, we can't steal the joy of others in the process. We must focus on what we like about others. In time, focusing on the positive instead of the negative will eliminate the negative. I am not saying that the negative may completely disappear. What I am saying however is that with a consistent focus on the positive things you enjoy about a person, you will be too focused on the good to notice the bad.
