From the first day I met you, I have been chasing a high A high similar to those who tasted crack for the first time Knowing full well that That feeling of the first taste I could never get back Yes, I've been chasing that kind of high High on you, high up on you I been chasing that high And when I was finally ready for it That high was no longer ready for me. So for years, I've been chasing my high. I loved you past my own insecurities I loved you past all of my anxieties Afraid I was I began Walking a poet's refrain Afraid I was I began Speaking a poets sweet sililogue Afraid I was I began Believing in the courage that is the love of myself. Chasing you When all along I should have been chasing me Chasing my dreams For any and everything worth the fight Will chase you Attract to you I am the magnet That attracts the facts to me I am the sophisticated song that your heart used to sing Until it couldn't sing no more Until your heart's voice became so hoarse Lost interest in this race So you chose to give up on my course Three laps completed with one to go Letting go of my soul and the desire to lose control With me, you no longer dream For your nightmares scare you as your visions From God Stood by your side Time after time You were Moses And I was the rod That parted life's red sea For you Clearing the path to inexhaustible victories Yet without you I stand alone? But still I rise For with God I am never alone Rising above I am able to see That where there is life There aren't many guarantees Only what I believe in my heart And God's plan for me Will never depart So now I chase me As I always should have I attract the positive high I attract the good high I attract multiple victories high I attract the love from others high I attract my best life high And it was all worth it It was all worth me doing Again And I would For the biggest lesson I'm learning Is how to be your friend But then again Who needs a friend like you I'm way too cool 3/12/18
