I Find Myself Deep| Poetry

Updated: Feb 26, 2020
I find myself deep So very deep in thoughts Wishing I could get out of my own head If only for a moment As I sit here beside this hospital bed As the strength to control the flow Of my tears The sound of the bed shaking only increases my emotions Don't want to fail being positive But at this present time I just can't help it I am failing My mind is so cluttered right now When on any given day in my past I would be inebriated right now To feel less of the memories that didn't last Selfish is what I feel Watching you sleep Thinking that if we could trade bodies for a moment in time I would not feel this pain This pain I feel It is too real Not knowing your level of discomfort And if what you are dealing with is...is harder The distractions are way to real Emotions boling over Spilling over Chest wanting to explode Would you trade places with me If you could Why would you even want to No one deserves to experience this level of pain that I feel Not you Not me Not no one But I do I feel it Desperately wishing I could get out of my own head As I sit here watching you sleep in this hospital bed From my thoughts I want to runaway I wish you would awaken Just to tell me everything will be okay, Marcia.
