Oh, Grandma| Poetry

I sit here confused About what God is trying to say By having you not being able to say A thing Not a single word Not a single thought Nothing Nothing leaks from your mouth Except for the air that you breathe in Your voice is trapped Buried within the body Of your physical being As I remain here with multiple thoughts Swarming through my head Oh Grandma I'm trying not to see red For when I do That only hinders you For positive thoughts are what you need right now Not tears, not questions of why why why Only when I am completely Alone with myself Do I cry cry cry But only for a moment For you need all my strength To get you through this Listening to the chirping of the birds Hoping that today you will speak a word I hear your voice inside their chirps Telling me it will be okay While Some take for granted communication on a day to day I wish you could speak to me For I need more than what your eyes say The windows to your soul Still have that glow Psalms 121 is what I read to you With every determination that you will be able to read it to me too For your help cometh from the Lord As all our eyes lift unto the hill The Lord is thy keeper I look into your eyes everyday Deeper and deeper What are you wanting to say oh, grandma If only I could create a code that would crack the message within your brown eyes Frustrated that we cannot hear the thoughts of your mind Pause A slow blink As you turn your head and again close your eyes I know that you are with us That much I can hear Never imagined falling in love with your snoring But this proof of life is like music to my ears As I sit here late at night watching you sleep and sleep I pray that God would sooner than later Allow your voice to creep Tap me upon my eardrums My name never sounded better from the mouth of another Allowing your right hand to move Welcome back, my dear grand mother Welcoming back a stronger, healthier you Whose total body is healed with your total mind healed too God is the healer who has the final say I decree and I declare that you are healed You are healed Thank you God for you are healed This is what I pray Thanking God that I didn't cancel my show, which happened to be the night you had your stroke For I was feeling down, after my window, the enemy broke And stole my belongings, yet things I can always get back Confirmation that If it weren't for my event we wouldn't have noticed you were under attack And here I was thinking that being stolen from, was bad What's worst is being robbed of you, the real you The contemplation merely makes me sad But I'll stay positive for you oh, grandma Realizing now, that was the last night I heard your voice When you spoke to assure me that you were fine Even though I could see By your facial, you weren't Now Reading my poetry to you grandma Reading the Bible to you grandma Affirming total healing with my uplifting words That will inspire and get you through oh, grandma For you are a survivor of three type of cancers At three different times of your life And you are stronger so much stronger It is only right That you survive this here too Colon Cancer breast cancer lung cancer Beat em So, This enemy right here, You gonna defeat him Promise me you won't give up grandma You have your entire family friends and thier friends We are all rooting for you grandma Days and nights sleeping beside you in a hospital room You would think I was the patient For you oh, grandma I'll be here patiently waiting Selfishly I want to be One of the first To whom you'll speak When you wake up, grandma When your voice comes up, grandma When you realize that enough time has passed Putting all this in the past To create a brighter, healthier future Enough is enough oh, grandma Waking up to be even better than your former self This great woman With inexhaustible strength Will reclaim her memories, all her functions and most importantly Awaken with superior health! Oh, grandma I love you!
