Once upon a time

I could freely go

To the place that relaxed my mind

To the place that calmed my heart

To the place that eased my thoughts

I could freely go

Once upon a time

To my serenity place

My spot of tranquility

Where I could watch the sun set behind the bridge filled with cars

Driving in both directions

Where I could walk across the water filled with ducks

Swimming back and forth

Where the sand would be beneath my feet

Crawling between my toes

Where at times I'm caught sitting on the dock of the lake

Contemplating how deep it could possibly be

My sweet special place of creativity

My soft spot of meditation

To be grounded, feeling the energy of the Earth

As my tears of joy walk down my face

Oh how I long to be back in my zone

Where I pray and listen for God's reply

Sitting still, being patient, waiting

Breathing in the smells of nature's aromatherapy

My skin soaking up the sun before it disappears from the sky

Hearing the harmonic sounds of birds and insects

Writing my emotions down and allowing them to escape

Soon and very soon

I shall return to the place

God created

Where I create

When it is safe

My serenity place
